SENTENCES! RRROAARRRR!

So, hum, yeah. I'm tired of having no fluency on the japanese language.

I want to put sentences on my SRS. I will follow your advices of Srsing only things I'm interested in. I used to SRS only sentences from Genki and as I already knew 80% of them fluently, well, it was boring. I'll start looking up for new sentences on other places such as Kotaku.jp, CosCom (news and weather related stuff), etc, etc.

Do you know of any japanese websites related to the Nintendo DS, PSP, Videogames in General, other than Kotaku, of course?

I usually give up from reading japanese websites because most of the times I don't know the grammar. It's quite frustrating. That's probably one of the few things that keeps me away from learning japanese with more ease.

I'm now doing some research on this matter on RevTk forums, so hopefully tomorrow I'll have a clearer idea on this.

By the way, I actually ended up buying a 16Gb pendrive, for 30€. I already erased the stuff from my laptop (kinda limited too) and put them there.

Btw2, aren't there any websites that allow people to see ドラマ with japanese subtitles, but without having to donwload the episode/series? Something like youtube, but with subs.

  1. Nice! Have fun with your new sentences approach. :)

As for grammar, Tae Kim is great. Also, I've personally noticed that as my vocabulary grows, my ability to "absorb" grammar increases. Keep reading, even if you don't understand! It's a wonderful feeling when you realize you suddenly "get" something that used to be cryptic, without making a point to study it specifically.

As for streaming videos with Japanese subs, I'm really not sure. Since you're studying Chinese as well, try finding videos/dramas that you're interested in on Chinese video sites (like Youku and Tudou). I've seen a lot of Japanese media with Chinese subs there. It's not what you were looking for, but it might be fun. :)

  2. Yeah, Tae Kim seems to be quite solid, and easy. Just a few a day (25, but I might go to 50).

Genki + Minna no Nihongo + Tae Kim +(and hopefully) reading real life news on CosCom. Should get me somewhere :P

Yeah, for chinese I already have chinese TV (they use subs for everything). Nevertheless those will be helpfull, since chinese TV can ve very slow and boring at times.

    Thanks ;)
